Rewarding
It’s been about 6 months since I’ve written a blog. My life has been consumed with fundraising and planning our first two major charity events, here in South Carolina. Those events have recently concluded, and now I find myself with a little more time for my personal life, which includes spending more time with my other two grandchildren.
Fundraising is the most difficult, but the most rewarding thing, my husband and I have ever done. It has devoured all of our time and energy. But, at the same time, this project has energized us and has us aspiring for another challenge, and craving to raise even more money. Now that life has decelerated for only a little while, I can look back at what we accomplished with extreme pride and gratification.
The CAM FUND Autumn Gala
It was a big success! People were busy socializing, bidding on silent auction items (painting of Augusta National, antique golf clubs, a concrete fountain, iPad air, big green egg), and buying raffle tickets for a chance to win more than 20 different baskets of prizes. We were entertained by international recording artist, Beth Spangler. She was phenomenal, as always! The speakers were impressive and entertaining, with many kind words to say regarding the CAM FUND and its mission. Mark and I are so pleased with the outcome of the evening, and our hearts are filled with gratitude for the friends who joined us for the evening, and for the generous supporters of the CAM FUND.
Caiden’s Charity Golf Classic
It was a delightful day of golf, camaraderie, and just plain fun! The golfers were treated to a tee bag of gifts at check-in, enjoyed breakfast (supplied by Chick-Fil-A), and they were able to buy raffle tickets (raffle items included: rounds of golf, 4 tickets to a University of South Carolina game, Yeti cooler, Kamado ceramic charcoal grill, iPad air). After 18 holes of golf, the players and volunteers were treated to lunch (supplied by Outback Steakhouse). There was a putting contest for a chance to win $5,000, a hole-in-one for a chance to win a Honda, a hole-in-one for a chance to win a trip, and a hole-in-one for a chance to win an E-Z-Go golf cart.
We are beaming with pride and exhilarated to start another project. Stay tuned…..
